Madhu's has been honoured as the Best UK Restaurant in the 2004 Good Curry Guide.
Madhu's was established in Southall in 1980 by the Anand family and features Punjabi cuisine with a Kenyan Asian twist. The restaurant has 94 seats over 2 floors and is today run under the guidance of managing director Sanjay Anand. Sanjay's brother, Sanjeev Anand, is the creative force in the kitchens and he produces fabulous sounding signature dishes like nyamah choma, ribs of lamb marinated in a red chilli paste and machuzi kuku, a chicken dish simmered in a cinnamon and clove spiked broth.

Sanjay Anand received his award from Sir Gulam Noon at a ceremony held at the London Hilton on 17th May 2004. Sanjay responded to receiving his award by saying "It's a great honour to receive one of the highest accolades in the industry. The business has exceeded all expectations and it now gives me a chance to focus on other business interests". Those business interests include being a television chef, a Bollywood actor, a nightclub owner and a property developer so it can safely be assumed that Sanjay Anand is not a man who is short of energy and drive. |
The Cobra Good Curry Guide is now in its 8th edition. The Guide features over 1000 of the best Indian restaurants in the UK and each year gives special awards to the most outstanding restaurants in the country. Pat Chapman, editor of the Good Curry Guide, who was also on hand to give out the prizes, commented "It's a great pleasure to recognise the elite Indian restaurants that have consistently received positive reports in the Cobra Good Curry Guide".
